This programme is perfect for those in roles where coaching is key – from team leads and people managers to HR and L&D professionals, or anyone aiming to lead through influence rather than instruction.
You don’t need to be a qualified coach yet – just curious, compassionate, and ready to listen deeply and lead differently.

Skills You’ll Build & What You’ll Learn
What You'll Learn
- Coaching theory, ethics and models including GROW, Thinking Environment, NLP, Gestalt and more
- Neuroscience, emotional and social intelligence, reflective practice, and feedback
- Psychological safety, diversity and bias, and how beliefs impact performance
- Differences between coaching, mentoring, therapy, training, and consulting
- The art of powerful questions, goal setting and sustaining non-judgmental space
Skills You’ll Build
- Professional coaching contracting and boundary management
- Deep listening, rapport building and trust-based relationship development
- Stakeholder and sponsor engagement, including in senior and complex environments
- Coaching one-to-one, in teams and groups, virtually or in person
- Helping others raise awareness, navigate change and sustain progress
- Evaluation and goal tracking to measure coaching impact
Qualification & Accreditation
You’ll gain the Coaching Professional Level 5 Apprenticeship, a nationally recognised qualification.
You may also complete Level 2 Maths & English Functional Skills, if required.
What the Programme Looks Like
A holistic, experiential programme rooted in practice, reflection and impact – supported through our smart learning platform, Aptem.
What You Will Experience
- Monthly training modules led by accredited coaching professionals
- 6–8 hours per week of off-the-job training
- Practice-based learning with feedback from supervisors and peers
- Reflective journaling, supervision and 1:1 coaching support
- Online study via Aptem and structured workplace application
- Final End Point Assessment (EPA) including observed coaching practice
Career Progression
Completion unlocks roles such as:
Or independent/freelance coaching, with opportunities to pursue ICF, EMCC or ILM accreditation
Or progression to further qualifications such as Senior People Professional L7

To be eligible, you must:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Have lived in the UK or EEA for the past 3 years
- Be in a role where you can apply your learning (we can help you find one)
- Not already hold a qualification in the same subject
- Not be studying another government-funded qualification
Your training is fully funded, and you’ll earn a salary while gaining real experience in a full-time role.
