A: This is a natural feeling. A new place doing new things with people you don’t know. I understand. The key thing is speak to people. If you don’t have a mentor, you can always approach someone to be an informal mentor. They will be thrilled to have been asked. You should also speak to your manager and ask what you need to achieve by the end of the year and if you can check in once a quarter. That way, you are reducing this into bit size challenges: you know what you need to do by end of the week, end of the quarter. And finally, get clarity on what “success” looks like at your company for someone in your position. You can then tick them off as you go. So be clear on what is expected of you and reach out to people around you to discuss it.
